How often should you get a massage?
It’s one of the most common questions we hear, and the honest answer is: it depends on what you want massage to do for you. Here’s a simple guide.
For general stress relief and upkeep: every 3–4 weeks
If you mostly want to unwind, sleep better, and keep everyday tension from piling up, a session about once a month works well for most people. It’s often enough that you don’t start from scratch each time.
For a specific problem area: every 1–2 weeks, for a while
Stubborn neck and shoulder tension, a tight low back, or recovery from a tweak usually responds better to sessions closer together at first. Once things calm down, you can space visits out.
For athletes and very active people: every 2 weeks
If you train hard, run, hike, ski, or play a sport, regular work helps you stay ahead of tightness instead of chasing it.
Listen to your body
A few signs it might be time to come back:
- The same spot keeps tightening up between visits
- You’re sleeping worse or holding stress in your jaw and shoulders
- Your range of motion feels more limited than usual
Make it easy to stay consistent
The biggest benefit comes from consistency, not from one heroic session a year. Booking your next visit before you leave takes the guesswork out of it.
If you’re coming in regularly, our Wellness Rhythm membership gives you member rates on every visit (and it covers your family too). See how it works.
